Digital music composition is the use of digital tools to compose music. Of particular emphasis is the use of digital tools to edit and create compositions in new ways from what was previously possible. For many years digital tools have been available to edit MIDI files (e.g. Cakewalk), but the advent of so-called Web 2.0 technologies (like wiki and so forth) could potentially result in new ways to work with music.
